All right, Michigan. We see you.
Chocolay River RV Park was the next place we called "home", which is just outside of Marquette, Michigan.
We did quite a bit in our two week stay. Here are the highlights:
We learned a new term of "Yooper". If you say the UP...a resident is a Yooper and is a term of endearment!
Lake Superior - wow. Talk about expansive and awe-inspiring.

Awesome downtown area - restaurants, shops, harbor - college town

Getz's department store - 3 stories! - family owned store since 1900 https://youtu.be/GAh-KcqzfbI?si=q93tM9TrJN-4tpa8
Wednesday evenings - they close down Washington street for a local vendors market
Coachlight - yummy breakfast

Iron Bay Restaurant - we sat outside for lunch and it is by the harbor
The Vierling - it was very busy, but we found the food meh, just okay
The Dry Dock - bar/grill in the town of Harvey on the way to our RV park - very midwest vibes in a good way
Ore Dock Brewing Company - they had many drink options and a couple food trucks outside to order food
HarborFest outdoor music, food trucks, beer tents, - lovely couple of evenings - again, we hit upon a great event by chance! Ellwood Mattson Lower Harbor Park https://marquettewestrotary.org/index.php/harborfest-2024/

And we did all of this in the evenings or weekends during our stay. You can work full-time and still do the fun things! Once we "land" somewhere, I usually will go to the town's website/visit us page to see what they are known for or if there are any events going on. Find the little things wherever you stay (or live) and enjoy!
