Some new Jeep parts

We added a couple new things to the Jeep this fall that we are really enjoying.
The Jeep Wrangler Sport we purchased is pretty bare bones when it comes to technology. One thing we had a hard time living with was HAVING to use our key fob to lock/unlock the doors. We had gotten so used to proximity door locks on our other vehicles, where you can just hover over the handle or push an exterior button on the handle to get things done.
We made it almost a year before doing anything about it! That's pretty monumental for us, lol.
Chad found a kit to change out the standard locks. It involved taking off the interior door panel on the passenger and driver front doors, switching out a wiring harness, and popping everything back together again.
That was a very oversimplified explanation! I wish I had taken some action shots during the install, but alas, I did not. The first side took us over an hour, but the second side I think we finished in 30 minutes. Our skills improved!
We love it. Now we can keep our key fob in our respective pockets and not be fumbling all over to get our doors open.
The other change we made was adding a BesTop and shade that replaced our hard panels on the roof. These are all stock photos from their website, because why would we take pictures of our own project? (https://www.bestop.com/products/sunrider-for-hardtop-for-jeep/?vid=153428)

Their website says it pretty well...
"Feel the wind in your hair and the sun's warmth on your face. Just flip back the Sunrider for Hardtop and you instantly have open-air fun. It's an all-weather, all-purpose, all-year answer to those bulky factory Freedom Panels. It’s the first and only product that provides hard top owners instant access to an open-air driving experience without leaving the front seat of their Jeep. Isn’t this the reason you said “yes” to a Jeep?"
Well, yes. Yes it is.

This is what it looks like open. It does fine on the highway, if you have no desire to talk to each other. We tend to use it more in areas with a speed limit of 50 mph or lower. It stays back just fine in faster speeds, though.

We also added the shade that coordinates with the BesTop. I do have my alabaster skin to consider here, folks. Sometimes the sun is just too darn intense! It is independent from the Sunrider, so you can choose to open it or close it depending on your mood or love of the sun.
We are in the Arizona desert again where there are a lot of Jeep trails. Some wheelin' is on the list of things to do while we are in Arizona, for sure.
Between the record cold, snow in places it shouldn't snow, and wildfires in California, things are a bit nuts across the country. Stay safe out there, everyone!
