We spent a quick week just 12 miles north of Nashville at the Grand Ole RV Resort. https://grandolervresort.com. At first glance, we were not sure if our motorhome would fit into the spots here. The layout was winding and curvy and the sites seemed to be nestled pretty close to one another. But after some slight maneuvering, we fit just fine, and there was a nice grassy area next to our site.

I think the most notable feature of Grand Ole RV Resort was the live music they had on site EVERY NIGHT. They have a partially enclosed porch area that has a local musician or group every night of the week. They also offer pizza to order, a daily breakfast menu, and a home-cooked style meal to purchase on Friday and Saturday nights. The on-site store also offers a pretty good selection of adult beverages. After a long travel day, we ordered a pizza, drank a couple tall boys, and enjoyed some wonderful live music. It was perfect.

This used to be home to Marathon Automobiles and has been converted to house independent shops, tasting rooms, and business offices. It was cool to walk around and look at the old machinery that lined the hallways and a couple of museum type rooms.

While we were downtown, we walked up and down the "Honky Tonk Highway" aka Broadway Street. That was on a Sunday afternoon, and it was bananas. I can only imagine how it gets hopping in the evening. And parking was $12 an hour. Yikes. Is this what it feels like to get older? haha. It is something to experience, though, because almost every establishment has a band performing and their stages are basically in the front windows of the bar, so the music spills out onto the street.

I also had a chance to connect with two of my cousins for lunch while they happened to be in town at the same time! Thankfully, they post things on Facebook more than I do, so it worked out for us to meet. We met at The Cafe at Thistle Farms, "A nonprofit social enterprise helping heal, restore, and employ women survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction." https://www.thecafeatthistlefarms.org. They had delicious food and it was soul filling to have some cousin time!
