Life has gotten in the way of letting you know what's happening.
It's time for a recap! We are going to go back a little bit in order to catch you up...
June 8th: our house officially went on the real estate market; we got our first showing booked less than 2 hours after going "live"!
June 9th and 10th: our realtor coordinated two open houses this weekend; she even had a live musician for our Saturday open house. We felt kind of bougie, but it was a hit; many of our neighbors stopped by or just listened from their decks. The only downside is that WE couldn't stay and hang out (it is super awkward to have the sellers still at a house you are touring). Over 30 parties walked through our house. That's amazing! Utah Life Real Estate Group does great marketing. If you are in need of a kick ass realtor, reach out to brandeedavis.liveutah.com.
June 11th: the first offer came in on our house...our realtor predicted with all the traffic we had over the weekend that we will get multiple offers...Here we go!
June 12th-13th: we received multiple offers! After much deliberation, we made a decision and we are under contract! Now the buyers have ~2 weeks for due diligence to have whatever type of inspections done on the house. July 3rd is their final deadline to have financing and appraisals in place. So, now we wait and hope all meets their approval!
June 28th: Ann's last day of work at the middle school. She had a couple days to spend with her successor. Now her day job consists of helping in the transition phase of moving from House to RV. (Downsizing from ~5000 square feet to ~360 square feet 😳)

July 1st: our daughter's 19th birthday. Our family of four was able to connect for dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, Chloe's favorite place to celebrate her birthday the last few years. (This pic is at Texas Roadhouse a few days later! One cannot celebrate one's birthday too much, right?)

July 5th: our 26th wedding anniversary. Time flies when you are having fun (and when you are putting your house on the market for sale). Chad and I went out for sushi and went to a play, 42nd Street. It was nice to take a minute to celebrate!

July 6th: we sold our Tesla Model Y. We are now a one vehicle family. That's different.

July 12th: our son's 22nd birthday. The four of us gathered again to celebrate at a local brewery with great burgers. Yum! 🤤 I brought a homemade banana cake, although I dodged making the finicky homemade frosting this time. I opted for a store-bought version and it was...tolerable. Sometimes, life needs store-bought frosting! (This is the ONLY homemade cake and frosting combination in my arsenal, BTW. I wish I made more recipes from scratch. So I'm being a bit tongue-in-cheek here!)

July 18th: Time to say goodbye to our house! We are parking at an RV resort about 45 minutes north while we await having more solar and batteries added to our rig...more details to come on that setup!

July 19th: closing day has arrived! We are grateful that the selling process went so quickly and smoothly.
We bought a cool 1960s rambler as a "home base" house at the end of March that Carter and some roommates will stay in near his college campus, and Chloe found an apartment with friends near her college campus.
People ask what our kids think of our decision to sell everything and go mobile. We're not entirely sure, but they seem happy with their current living situations!

July 26th: we had our kids meet us at the RV Resort, which isn't too far from either of them. A last supper of sorts before we head north into Montana this weekend!
Oh, I forgot to mention that we had one garage sale, multiple listings on Facebook marketplace to sell bigger items, ~4 truckloads of usable things that went to our home base house, at least 10 truckloads dropped off at Savers (a local thrift/donation store), and 2 trips to the landfill sprinkled in this timeline, as well. 😅
Does this month put into perspective our choice of website name? 🤪
