Connecting with family in AZ

Let's ease back into this, shall we?
I was tempted to do a 6 month recap all in one post, but I think that's a bit much.
I'm going to give myself a little grace here and just share a few photos this post, with some updates that will come out in closer succession. I promise. Until it slips my mind. lol

My lovely sister-in-law Dulcie and my brother Rich came out for an impromptu weekend. They asked 'What are you doing this weekend? Are you around?' and we absolutely took them up on a visit. I think we are all figuring out that sometimes, you just have to go for it! Thankfully, Chad grabbed this selfie of us after we went to the Musical Instrument Museum (https://mim.org). It was already starting to heat up in the Phoenix area, so we opted for an indoor activity! We ate, drank, and had a few days of awesome conversation and catch up time. Truly great! We tried to convince them to buy the vacant place next to us, but no such luck...this time.

Our son Carter was able to take a few days off work and we flew him down to Arizona. It was a chance for him to just relax, which is completely against his nature! We also took advantage of some free labor and he helped us hang some patio lights and take care of a couple other little projects around our place. It is so interesting being a parent to a true adult now. Spending time with our adult kids is quite high on my list of favorite things to do right now.

Our daughter Chloe chose to spend her last Spring Break as an undergraduate student with us! Chloe and I wanted to do some sort of craft together, so we had Grandma Gerri be our guide, teacher, and provider of supplies to sew a little quilt. We both had fun doing it and may even try it again! I think I unearthed some brain cells in the process or fried some, I'm not sure which.

Chad's sister Michel and brother-in-law Matt came down to visit Chad's parents, so we got to connect with them while they were here.

Our resort has a concert series, so we snagged four tickets to check out the Bon Jovi Tribute band. Let's just say the band was...entertaining. It was a fun night; the lead guitarist was actually pretty amazing. The highlight for the evening was their closer, 'Livin' on a Prayer' and that did not disappoint. And we were done by 9:00 ;)

At the end of April, our season 'ended' at the resort. You can live there year-round, but we have things to do and people to see. Next stop: Utah for Chloe's college graduation!
As always, we hope to see you on the road!

This all looks so fun! Love your quilts!
